Re: Windows95 users
Last October, I installed a RedHat 5.1 distro. that I got from
LinuxCentral.com. Since Linux on the boot floppy wouldn't recognize my IDE
CD-ROM, I had to copy all the RPMs onto my Win95 partition. I had no
problems with filename mangling.
What the differnce *may* be: I have the original Win95, with only the first
service update and the FAT16 filesystem. Someone having problems with
filename mangling in this curcumstance might possibly have Win95 or Win98
along with the second service update, with the FAT32 file system. I *think*
I remember seeing something last fall about Linux having problems reading
the DOS-FAT32 system. Can anyone verify this?
