RE: Strategy

I've heard reports of Mandrake not working on Athlon class machines.
Something to do with MTRR. I presume it's something to do with the
optomizations since RedHat was reported to work. Does anyone know
if Mandrake have sorted this one? Another reason to stay clear of
Mandrake as the base for Independence?

I agree with you Jean - the power users who want to get every ounce
of power out of their machine can go with Mandrake but Indy's
is accessability / ease of use which doesn't neccessarily mean
sometimes performance may need to be sacrificed for compatability.

It was more or less what I want to do but I wanted to ensure people
agreed with me. By the way I ever recompile the additional software
in Indy andd that means no PGCC optimizations. :-)
