Status Reports (We're Back...)

OK.  Status reports are back.  There's a few reasons why, other than the fact that they are
very good things.  Here's a brief:

Awarness - yes it's good to know what each other is doing.  IRC is good for on-going
communication, but it's nice to have sumthin to always flip to in email.  Sometimes yur IRC
backlog goes away :)

To Make People Feel Bad - Yes, thats right.  If people aren't doing anything, and thus have
nothing to report on, sometime they feel just a LITTLE lame :).  This is a good thing (tm),
as we WANT them to feel lame if they have done nothing.  

We seem to have a spectrum, with the two ends being "I do some here and there" and "I live,
eat, and breathe the LKB".  And we have people scattered across the spectrum.  Anyone near
the beginning of that spectrum needs to seriously analyze whether or not they are really
committed to the project.  We're not tying anyone down here.  If people are more interested
in something else, and feel held back, by all means, just let us know.  We won't hang
anyone :)  Maybe light hair on fire... but...  Seriously though - people commiotted need to
be in the ball park of "For the most part, I do my share weekly, and meet target dates -
most of the time ;)".  We need to get better at meeting target dates.  They'll never be
written in stone, as we have lives and outside influences - but saying "It'll be done...
SOMEDAY!" is no good either.  

Anyway...

Weekly status reports helps to resolve a lot of this I feel.  If nothing else, it's a
weekly reminder that we SHOULD be working on something.  And it's a note to the other
developers to let them know what's going on - and we all deserve that.  So - I'd like today
for everyone to get there first report out for a while, just to let us know where you stand
right now, so that next week we have a point of comparison.  Mine will follow this email.

And again - if anyone's intentions have changed, please speak up.
