More CVS ?'s

OK, I figured out how to add directores/files to the directory.  Still
don't know what to do about the devel module that I nuked. :-(  (BTW, all
the info is "safe" on my machine at home... for all the good it does
there.)

Anyways, how should development be done on the box directly?  In most
cases, I assume we just do a 'cvs checkout' locally, but in the case of
installing programs this isn't a solution.  (Ht://dig comes to mind.)

So, how does CVS work when 'make install' drops files directly into the
CVS tree /home/http/preprod/devel (or www, dev, tst).  What do I need to
do?  Also, what about excluding binary files from cvs checkouts?
/cgi-bin/htsearch is an example of a binary file that most people don't
need to download.

Anyways, let me know what I should do.  After nuking the devel module I
feel dangerous and don't want to cause anymore trouble.
