Rob was especially careful to not provide any really useful details except
that he's used both devel and stable releases and they've both had their
various problems.  He's using the stable for the slashdot pages and the
devel for the ad serving.  Apparently the ad serving is far more complex.

Try as I may I couldn't get a release number for either pro or con.

I suggest we either:

1) Convince Jason to do some research (ask on the mysql list?)
or 
2) Just go for it.

On another note, I did get to talk to Eric Raymond and Carsten Haitzler
(of E fame).  Both of them were very cool and down to earth.  And just
wait for a week or two and check out the new E... just takes your breath
away!
