What's the problem using ProFTPd?
We'll have a MySQL-based authentication, with same UIDs for all
non-shell users, and chrooting them to their home dirs on login so they
won't cause havoc with other's accounts. Maybe that's a "wrong"-way
approach, but hey, it'll work.
Later on, we could tunnel ProFTPd via ssh (OpenSSH) or stunnel.
