Looks like you're trying to use tsocks on os x? It doesn't (easily)
work on os x, even for non-gui apps.

There's a program from Dug Song named dsocks that does, I hear.

I also hear from Robert Hogan that an upcoming not-yet-released version
of torsocks will work on os x.
