Yeah, that sentence seems a bit confused, but it makes more sense if you include the part which you omitted: > Therefore, we'll ignore tagnaq's suggestions whose single aim is that > one. E.g. we won't encourage people to use PGP-inline. We really want to promote PGP/MIME instead of PGP-inline since the latter is an absolute mess. I suppose what is really meant is that we ignore most suggestions about mail header fields etc. simply because we don't have the means to *easily* modify them as you suggest. Luckily it seems you'll provide us with an *easy* solution for that. :) >> The idea is to at least try to get this merged upstream (if not in >> Mozilla, perhaps at least in Debian) in some form, otherwise we're >> gonna ship an Icedove built from sources with these changes applied >> in Tails. > Great! I am, and that's where I plan to post the patches. > I hope you enable mailnews.auto_config_ssl_only by default and hide > the disable button very well ;) Currently mailnews.auto_config_ssl_only is false by default, and it has a checkbox with label "Only use secure protocols" right under the "Remember password" checkbox in the wizard. So it's not very hidden, but if people are gonna notice it, it has to be like that. I suppose it could be a good idea to turn it on by default (most mail providers has SSL/TLS available), but then I think it also has to be unhidden for people that cannot use SSL/TLS because of an insane mail provider, or users of I2P-Mail (where SSL/TLS is unnecessary AFAICT). Well, I'm certainly open to suggestions on this one. Cheers!
