I tried DuckDuckGo some moons ago, shortly after they got started, and
it was quite terrible. I forgot all about them until a few months ago,
and I switched to them almost exclusively. The best part is that if you
don't find what you need and do temporarily need Google or something
else, you can usually throw !google or !ebay or whatever else on the end
and get exactly what you need, without even retyping.

If you value privacy, the loss of Google's personalization is a small
price to pay.
