It works just fine. One may use Arch Linux’s PKGBUILD⁽¹⁾ as a reference on how to build Firefox with ALSA enabled. If it would not work, there is also a solution many people used in the interim period between Mozilla decided to nuke ALSA and introducing it again: apulse.⁽²⁾ALSA support was removed from firefox a few years ago: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1247056 There was an option to re-enable it at build time, but I don't know if it still works.
