I wouldn't worry so much about it.  Believe it or not, a lot of people
can't see ghosting or aren't bothered by it.  You just happen to be
one of the few who is.  I'm the same way.  But most don't care.

you can lessen the ghosting by having less-contrasting colors, and
definitely don't ever move a checkerboard-shaded sprite quickly across
the screen, it's going to look terrible.  There are plenty of guides
on working around this.  You're not moving white sprites around on a
black background, are you?  if so, that will definitely ghost, even on
decent monitors.
