Yanoid is "Yet Another arkaNOID". It is currently quite playable and
enjoyable. Yanoid has been designed to be quite flexible and extensible, and
while the main engine is written in C++, Yanoid uses python scripts to
create maps, objects, etc.

Yanoid, with 410 points, is an Arkanoid clone written in Python. We were
especially impressed by its input handling (superior to LBreakout 2's, in
fact), creative selection of powerups, and general flashiness.

it was written with what? pySDL?
