pis there a comparable python packaging system that works for a good portion of Linux distributions? (I'm NOT talking about rpm's, ebuilds, etc.)
people have previously posted about pyinstaller to this list, and it's web page says it can package as executables for linux (I've never used it myself): http://pyinstaller.python-hosting.com/
