hmm, this is scary. it seems like there's something possibly

wrong with the compiler? i double checked the code and these
two variables are clearly defined as "int". (on line 983)

perhaps there is some small way to workaround this compile
error, but i'm afraid if the compiler cannot read this code
there'd be errors trying to compile anything. what version
of gcc, btw?

you can easily build pygame without surfarray support.
edit your "Setup" file, and comment out the line for surfarray.
