Important issues fall into the realm of "license discussions." Community projects, IMHO, need to cross the License hurdle early, if not first.

Some license choices would NOT permit the engine to be utilized by both open-souce and closed-source developers. But, you wrote, "commercial systems." Most licenses do allow for open source and commercialization. Libre Software with charges.

You are willing to work with anyone who shares this vision -- but I fear that the vision of yours isn't yet really shared.

What specific license do you suggest?
    Apache?
    LGPL?
