RE: [school-discuss] LTSP First Time - why not net-boot?

Well if I remember correctly they all have at least 64megs .. but I'm not
100% sure on that - I'll check the specs when I get home later on

Do those clients have local disk access? I know I keep asking this, but it
is important :o)

Daniel,

LTSP can also netboot the clients and they don't need 256 or 512 Mb
RAM. LTSP clients only REQUIRE 32 Mb RAM! I have two small LTSP labs
(10-client and 5-client), each running off a modest server (P4,
2.4Ghz/1Gb RAM/100Mb ethernet and AMD1500+/512Mb RAM/100 Mb eth). I
don't use Gigabit ethernet (yet) and my clients can be booted up and
ready to go in less than 40 seconds. I LOVE my LTSP labs! They are
so easy to upgrade and maintain. PLUS the mailing list is very helpful!
