And, OpenOffice.org can NOT open the files in the Open Clip Art
library -- as OpenOffice.org does not work with SVG files.
Mark, check some recent postings by myself and others, but in a
nutshell, SVG is a vector graphics format, much more efficient in
storage and higher quality in output, while what OpenOffice reads are
typically bit mapped (.png, .bmp, .gif) or compressed versions thereof
(.jpg). There is apparently a licensing issue that is holding up a .svg
capability for OpenOffice, no telling when it will be available. Of all
the recent schoolforge posts on the subject, the one I liked best as a
temporary way to get Open ClipArt into OpenOffice was using ImageMagick
for batch converting the existing OpenClipArt .svg files into .png files
locally. See the 'bouncing ideas around' thread on the list for this
month for more details. Daniel
