[school-discuss] Linux in Education Workshop
I have been approached to teach a Linux in Education Workshop to a group
of K-12 Computer Science/Business teachers in Oregon (sponsored by an
industry group--the program is called Superquest). This Workshop will
not take place until Summer 2003, so I have plenty of time to prepare.
Generally the students are very computer savvy educators who are largely
ignorant regarding Linux and Open Source Software.
I'm a Linux Mandrake, KDE guy, so this is the systems software my students
will install and use as representative of Linux. The class will last for
5 days, from approximately 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
I'm not an LSTP(Linux Terminal Server Project) guy, as I prefer so place
applications on the Linux Workstation's Hard Disk, and store student data
and files on the server. So, I will be dealing with both Linux as a
workstation and Linux as a server.
I have some plans and ambitions regarding curriculum for the class, but
thought I'd throw it out to the ListServ --> any suggestions?
