Re: [school-discuss] UNIZOR - Re: Free Software in education

Marc,
My 2 cts
Run your own server with a proxy. It does not even have to be connected to the Internet. Download the stuff you need at a cheap place on USB and copy it on your own server which is connected to your own workstations.

@ Dirk

Is true i have never tried something like that but with our ISP that
don't even keep their words i don't know what to think.
Also there's a WIMAX 16e that have been deployed by MTN Cameroon but
their pricing is a bit tricky i was planning to go for a Lease line
with the national Telco on Copper cable .
But am affraid that i may have a bad surprise.

Hello, Guido,

UNIZOR.COM is a completely free educational site for high school
students
interested in mathematics as a development tool to further their
creative
and analytical abilities. It's very much oriented towards problem
solving
and proofs of theorems rather than towards blind memorization of facts.

I am its author (both as a software developer and an educator), it's
based
on JavaScript and C#, I put it on the Web as a free source of knowledge
for
all. It has no advertizing and all the material (including my videos I
store
on YouTube) have creative Commons license (reuse allowed). Those who
register also have the ability to take exams on-line, also free, of
course.

I am not certain it fits to your Free Software list, but, if it does,
feel
free to include it. Appreciate it. Thanks.

Would you please consider http://www.unizor.com as well?

You can read about it at Texas A&M University newsletter at
http://disted6.math.tamu.edu/newsletter/newsletters_new/2012_4_07.pdf
I couldn't see if it is related to Free Software, so I didn't mention
it this time. Please ping me if I missed something.

Greetings,

Guido
