Or $378 including 15" monitor. At today's prices (http://www.xe.com/ucc/),
equals AUD$447/AUD$679. Local supplier (nobody special): AUD$599 1GHz
Tualatin, disk, 128MB, 40GB, no NIC, no monitor. NIC AUD$13. Monitor 15"
AUD$189, 17" AUD$215. 40GB HDD AUD$119. So...
NIC-15" PC-15" NoHDD PC-17" NoHDD Currency
679 788 669 814 695 AUD
378 439 372 453 387 USD
PC advantages: more horsepower, easier/cheaper to expand or re-use,
AUD$10/USD$6 a pop cheaper or extra 2" of monitor for AUD$15/USD$9 a pop.
NIC advantages: no moving parts, less likely to get, er, nicked.
Not as clear-cut as ThinkNIC would have you believe, but definitely an option.
For those who care the diff between 17" and 19" at said supplier is AUD$120.
