Re: [school-discuss] Knoppix vs. Freeduc vs. ???

With lots of ISO's are being offered by bit torrent these days, I think eventually this will be a non issue.

Hello,

A guick question about "etiquette".... is it considered 'bad form' to use a
download accelerator to grab an .iso or straight distro?? I get speeds
of high 100's to 200K plus on Windows sites .... I know that these
programs make multiple connections to a server but I don't know the
technology behind them .... are these "virtual" connections or the
eqivalent of seperate logins .... If using them precludes others from
logging in it is simply "rude" ..... Would appreciate knowing as the
speed inclrease is substantial....

Doug,
Thanks for the link. Try clicking on it - you get "file not found"
in about 50 different languages. I finally found a mirror site but the
download rate is only about 2.5k / sec on my DSL line. They seem to be
really busy. Looks like it will take days to get the ISO, but I was
hoping to have it by tomorrow. I'm trying to find a better mirror
site.
