RE: [school-discuss] Kids and Linux, re: Andy Lopata

Andy,

What educational / learning / game software have you (or your son!) found most successful?

Thanks,

David Harsany Crusoe

BTW I installed Mandrake Linux (v. 9.0) on my son's PC. It was a breeze to
install, it works very well and has many children's games/edu programs. The
PC cost me $199 from Tiger Direct. It came with Lindows OS pre-installed,
but I didn't want to pay for their yearly click-and-run service so I
installed Mandrake instead. My son has a great time playing on his computer
and he loves Tux!

Subject: [school-discuss] Kids and Linux

Hi:

If this is a newby question I apologize in advance. Is there a mechanism
by which to get kids - mine 7 & 9yrs - exposed to the Linux OS short of
purchasing a system to run it at home? Any resources you can point me to -
Linux OS training for kids - would be appreciated.

   TIA

Paul Coelho
