There is a client program called ReKall - I think its part of KDE that has a windows client so that you can have GUI access to postgresql database, which is also up and running on windows.  Postgresql is on par with Oracle, MS SQL-Server and while more complicated than mysql is further along the SQL standards curve.

she has made a fully integrating cource with OpenOffice and MySQL. It's 
working, It's greate, but It's in Norwegian. Contact here on e-mail,
