I don't have any code to contribute, the old Java code is something I
would not give to anyone, even if I had the rights to it, which I
don't. I do know how the Finnish system works and what are good things
that they would want here, but I can't really help with any other
countries system. Something like this would need a fairly long design
phase in which many of the internationalisation problems would be
handled.

I do have the database description written for a new version of the
system, I've tried to make it as modular as possible, and once I
finish writing it I could let you all have a look at it, if you're
interested. (Here I am, undermining a product from which I could have
made some money ;)
