Hello,

you can still send us your conference proposal and we appreciate that
you are
interested in presenting on Linux Expo North America.
Our Advisory Board will meet on januaey 31 to examine all conference
proposals and we will come back to you with their decision.

Best Wishes and Happy New Year

Jelena

  Hi there,

I am writing you today as a member of the Simple End User Linux
project
(http://www.seul.org), which fosters the development of end-user
centered open source applications for Linux.

Where SEUL fosters general several open source projects, SEUL-EDU
focuses directly on open source applications for education. SEUL-EDU
already has quite a number of software packages aimed specifically for
educational use, all of which are free / open software.

We are particularly interested in the Linux in Education track for
your
upcoming conference in Montreal (10-12 April), particularly because we
have gathered substantial resources for educational use, from
individual
applications to systems for grade management, along with substantial
documentation for the use of Linux in the classroom.

SEUL-EDU as a group is international in scope, with members here in
Canada, France, US, UK, Taiwan, and elsewhere. As such, our members
  have
many varied experiences, ranging from: the use of X-terminals in the
classroom; use of a specialized, education-centric DTD of XML for
record
management (EDUML); interactive geometry software (Dr. GEO); a
specialized minimal install of Linux for low-power, 3-486 computers
(Tiny); Periodic table application (GPeriodic); Web-based, educational
system administration app (K12Admin); Grade book app for KDE
  (KTeacher);
  Math training system (Promath).

Although I realize that the deadline for the Call for Papers has
passed,
I only became aware of this conference recently. As such, if there is
still room in the Linux in Schools track at this conference, our group
would be very interested in presenting a communication to share our
work
and experiences with Linux in education.

  Looking forward to your reply,

  Pete
