Yet again it has been quite some time since I last posted official news
regarding the status of General Education Online.  It seems appropriate to
issue another status report with the ongoing Linux in Education coalition
discussion.

General Education Online is slowly progressing to a more flexible and more
secure form of web-based administration.  This is part of an overall effort
to make the php codebase more useful to other organizations.

On the drawing board for v3 (which probably won't start development until
early next year), are the following features:

1.  A full featured search engine for searching the database entries
2.  Database independence
3.  Session based login and authentication (already started on as part of
the v2.5 halfway release)
4.  Site integration between the http://www.findaschool.org and
http://news.findaschool.org websites

As always, General Education Online welcomes anyone interested in assisting
with the project.
