But if you need to put a client on the front of the program, why not put
a client for EduML (or whatever XML DTD you like) there and avoid all
the MS stuff? Once you start translating from a native data format to
something else, you can pick whatever target you like. And the MS
license doesn't meet the criteria for open source or free software in
that it's restricted to educational uses. It's close, though.
