Re: [seul-edu] New kernel

Sure...

http://www.datc.tec.ut.us/linux , download the packet, then go to Lab 3 towards the end - I included a sort of "hand-holding" that walks you through make config, make bzImage, depmod, etc etc...

It's a year old and may not be 100% compatible with every distro (I tested it on RH 6.1 and Mandrake 6.5), but the process is the same.

Years ago the late, great Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, the survivor of a dozen hair-raising wrecks, was asked why he chose such a dangerous career. "How do you want to die?" asked Nuvolari. "Peacefully in bed," was the reply. "Then how do you find the courage to turn off the lights each night?" he mused.

Subject: [seul-edu] New kernel

To anybody:
I see that the new kernel is out and that it offers better support for dual processors. Since I'm putting together a dual-processor server, that sounds good. However, I don't have a clue how to install a new kernel. Can anybody point me toward a HOWTO or something?
Thanks,
