[seul-edu] [Seul] Does Seul need any help... (fwd)
Eugene has offered us space at the Mandrake booth in Linuxworld
Expo in New York at the beginning of February.
http://www.linuxworldexpo.com/ seems to have more details.
It's right at the beginning of term, and I'm teaching again this
term, so I'm not going to be able to make it. If any of you are
interested in this, get back to me or Eugene (if the latter, please
be sure to give me a cc) in the next few days.
(I might be confused about which expo he's talking about. I've cc'ed
this to him in case he wants to correct me. (Thanks Eugene!))
(For those who aren't up to date, Mandrake will behave pretty much
like Redhat 6.x except it'll have a couple more programs installed
and maybe a spiffier default gui setup. I haven't looked at it
recently, ymmv, our rpm's will work on it.)

Subject: [Seul] Does Seul need any help...
Hello Roger,
Thank you for your fast reply.
I just needed some basic information about Seul, before going further.
Brief background:
It is probably about two years, that I noticed "Seul" organization, (I
just do not remember exactely when).
I was one of the 3 person that organized "LinuxDemo Day" project,
(http://linuxdemo.org, http://linuxdemo.org/francais). I realized what
was involved and the energy needed to move on, a project using voluntary
people.
I also managed several small schools projects, that helped me to realize
the poor efficiency of some school system and the no-interest or
interest but no monney of the teachers or others school employees.
Following some of my achievements, I have been hired by MandrakeSoft.
The company that produce Linux-Mandrake, (http://Linux-Mandrake.com)
One of my goal is to help some projects such as your. Seul is on my
"wish" list for a while.
So if you are interested, I will provide you a space on MandrakeSoft
booth.
You will be free to demo what ever you wish as long as you use
Linux-Mandrake as operating system. I hope it is not a too big drawback
to you.
I propose you, your own table with space for one or two machines.
Let me know if that feet your needs.
At the show, we will have the opportunity to talk more about some other
MandrakeSoft involvement, such as specific project(s) support or more
shows presences.
Ok, let me know what you think.
If you are interested, let me know asap, I have others group that are
dying to have the booth.
Also let me know, if you would need anything else.
Eugene Clement
