|BTW, I was looking at the Math category in the App Index this
afternoon with
|an eye to dividing it into multiple smaller categories.  I came up
with
|Geometry, Algebra, Arithmetic, and General.  The first three
categories held
|6-9 apps each, while General held 20-25.  This tells me that I'm
not doing
|the categorization very well.  Could some of you math teachers take
a look
|at the category and come up with better categories?  Thanks.

Here's some lists from my notes that might help.  Probably with some
mistakes - I haven't used a lot of this.

There are some software packages that will fit into several subjects
and categories. For instance, most symbolic algebra software will
function as a calculator, and is good for algebra, trigometry,
calculus, etc.

Other software might better fit into a 'software type' rather than a
class. For example, what math classes would Star Office be good for?
It does have a nice spreadsheet, and a math authoring tool (Star
Writer).
