If you are talking hardware, IBM should be fine.  If you are talking about
what distribution of linux you want to use, mandrake 7.0 or redhat 6.1
would be your best bet.

I wouldn't.  They should actually be separate boxes and behind a firewall.
Because if someone compromises the web server and the finances are on the
same box, you are not going to be happy.

Mysql or postgresql.
