More task division concerns
[sorry for turning this public, Randy. But they were some good issues.]

Well, the goal of the SEG is to survey the 'simple end users', not to
necessarily have all of them on the group. The other seul groups ask the
seg to figure out the answer to a question they have. The seg ponders it
for a little while, turns it into a wording that is meaningful to an
ordinary person, does the survey through whatever mystical means they choose
(usenet posts, door-to-door, I don't care as long as they document the
process), and then discusses the results, ending up with a formal response
document describing the issues and end-user opinions.
But maybe it's due for a namechange anyway. Thoughts, anybody?

(Note that I've done a significant rewrite of the distrib section,
as I mentioned I would, to take into account the seg tasks.)
There is potential overlap between all groups, which is why the
seul-leaders group exists. The apps group finds apps and decides
which ones are good, modifies them for SEUL, and hands them to the
distrib group, which puts them in the right place. Distrib really
isn't the comprehensive catch-all group that it is currently. Right
now it has the most attention because George got his act together
first (well ok, I think chance had a lot to do with it too).

These are initial specifications from the sysarchs to the groups.
As soon as the new web page structure is set up, each group will have
the responsibility of putting up information about their group in the
appropriate place. They can use their task-division document, or they
can write their own more motivation-oriented document, or they can use
both, or whatever.
These task-divisions were designed to be reference guides for the group
leaders, not necessarily to be good advertising material. Some of the
writing might be reusable for the latter, but hey.
In theory, seul-pub would help out with writing "volunteer for seul!"
sorts of things. But I suspect they'll be a bit busy for the next little
while, making the webpage good. Or at least, I'd like them to be focusing
on that.

(See answer to #3.)
