ok.  i'm finally getting things ironed out: structure and personnel.
i've been keeping quiet since i've had a lot to work on and little
coherent to show, but you should hear from me again tonight.

i'm now responding to inquiries about dev team leadership.
if any of you have received mail from people wanting to help out,
please forward to me and tell me if you've responded to them.
