IMHO, that's not true.  DOS and UN*X shells have alot in common:

DOS:
dir

UN*X:
dir

DOS:
cd

UN*X:
cd

DOS:
copy

UN*X:
cp

DOS:
move

UN*X:
mv

Hmmm....  They look a lot alike to me....

Do a printf() on the second gets() - I don't think gets() swallows the \n.
