It's easier to put this in a script as well.  pon.

The new pppd also uses "--call" as an arg.  So you use "pppd --call ISP" and it
goe into /etc/ppp/peers looking for a file called ISP and uses it for options
and chat script.

I agree, let the scripts do the work for you.
