  Just my two cents worth here but I think that you are taking the wrong
approach.  The installation disk should contain nothing more than a batch
program to accomplish what
can be gotten from dos and enough of a system to support a ramdisk.  The
rest of the files should be on the CD-ROM.
I have to admit that I have not seen the redhat installation, but I have
used the caldera
installation system and found it most enjoyable to use (never had to resort
to the
second floppy either).
