A while ago Google announced Bazel (http://bazel.io/) which should be
capable of doing deterministic builds. We might want to investigate
whether switching to it/integrating it into our current system would be
saner as the solution we have right now.
Note http://bazel.io/FAQ.html section "Will Bazel make my builds
reproducible automatically?" where a lot of the issues are listed that are
time-consuming in a Gitian environment as well. Thus, if we switched to
Bazel we would need to deal with them there, too.
