 On the bright side, they appear to have an implementation. If the quality
 is up to snuff, we might be able to go with it.  Unfortunately, ISTR that
 it's in C++, so it might not be easy to audit for safety. Also, I'm not
 sure if anybody else is using it--and if they aren't, we'd be at risk for
 becoming the sole users, which eventually leads to becoming the
 maintainers. :)
