 In addition to the possibly incorrect assumption about hl= parameters,
 there seems to be a real serverside bug for firefox searches from non-US
 locations.  For instance,

 https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&q=thing

 is redirecting to

 http://www.google.com.au in Australia.
