 Yes, the default version of Python on OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) is 2.6.1

 Now the question is, do we want to support 10.6.8 (which is not very old)
 or not?

 Someone please update the blog post and mention that the latest "pluggable
 transport" only supports the latest Mac OS X.
