problems running under irix

hi,

i just subscribed, so please don't shoot me if this is old news or
inappropriate to this list
(i couldn't find an archive of the list---if there isn't anysuch in the
works, the list owner should consider subscribing archive@jab.org to get
the list auto archived on the free website www.mail-archive.com--i use it
for a lot of lists and it rules, aside from being free and searchable and
just plain working).

i'm trying to build/use xarchon on irix, and thanks to Ronen's suggestion,
i commented out a few bits of source that require gtk-1.2.1 (i have 1.2.0
and am not interested in upgrading for tedious reasons not worth going into
here).

the binaries then built and ran (the default font didn't exist on my system
so i had to alias it to a known font in order to get it to run--perhaps a
fallback to "fixed" or something should be implemented?), except that after
loading, whenever i try Game->New i get:

sprite.c/sprite_paint(): requested state 22 not found for sprite floor

could this be a result of commenting out the three function calls in
gtk-interface.c that reference the (unavailable in gtk 1.2.0) function
gtk_menu_ensure_uline_accel_group()?

if not, can i give more information to help in the bughunt?

i'm working with xarchon v.42 on irix 6.5 with egcs ~v1.1.2

glib/gtk works (well, gimp works, so i can only assume that)

the fact that it even compiles and starts without segfaulting (vs most
of the gtk programs i've tried under irix) is a strong indicator that it
wants to work on irix, unlike a goodly # of linux-developed wares.

thanks for what you've done, if nothing else i'll end up getting a linux
box eventually and can play on there---archon ruled and playing it on
unix (over the net?!) will be an amazing and fun flashback.

thanks in advance,
