There should be a status line at the bottom that tells you what's happening. It has a progress bar and text that tells what's loading currently. Is that status line missing, or is it just not clear enough?

I've noticed a couple of quirks with the keyboard controls. One problem I had involved setting light & dark keys, then setting both-sides keys afterwards. I was concerned with other things at the time, so I didn't do any real testing. Definitely a good item for the TODO list.

Should we have a changelog and TODO list on the website?
