Thanks for the interesting news, though, Laura. On a serious note, I'm always glad to find more avenues to use Python in projects and applications.

Bah. Just because there's a low level binding doesn't mean you're locked in. Is SDL (and thus pygame) locked in to windib, directx, quartz, or x11? No. Having lower level access to DirectX from Python is generally a good thing, because it allows people to better support that platform when they have a need to.
