Dear Colleagues,

I know many of you have been through this and that there's a lot out
there on this, but, as I value your perspectives, I'd love to hear
them: why not Google Apps (and mail) for schools?

If you've got an experience or a comment, I'd be grateful to read it.

Thank you,

David

 Hello David,
Translated from one of our newsletters:

(public primary school)

Google Terms of Service. article 2:

2.3 You may not use the Services and may not accept
the Terms if (a) you are not of legal age to form a
binding contract with Google, or (b) [snip].

Please read the Google Terms of Service - article 11:

11. Content licence from you
11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you
already hold in Content which you submit, post or
display on or through, the Services.
By submitting, posting or displaying the content you
give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide,
royalty-free, and non-exclusive licence to reproduce,
adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly
perform, publicly display and distribute any Content
which you submit, post or display on or through, the
Services. [snip]

11.2 You agree that this licence includes a right for
Google to make such Content available to other
companies, organisations or individuals with whom
Google has relationships for the provision of
syndicated services, and to use such Content in
connection with the provision of those services. [snip]

Using Goole mail, docs or whatever is penny wise and
pound foolish for any self respecting educational
institution.

With many thanks to our schools system administraor
who did all the fact finding.

Kind regards,
Dirk

Hello Malc,
