Languages

In so far as I was volunteered to run the translation project I have decided that a quick outline of what I am doing is in order.

I would like to set a site where one can access the following information:

Any problems with current language support or knowledge of programs which work well with language support should be forwarded to me. My goal is to have this site up somewhere around the beginning to middle of January.

Cordially,

Yes. And we need also keep  in  mind  that  translators  aren't
necessary IT specialists!

So,  there  must  be  some  clear  format  to  them   to   fill
translations in.

I can only add that I can help prepare russian translations for
the programs developed in  SEUL-EDU.  (english-->russian,  that
is)

Of   course,   programs   must    support    some    kind    of
internationalisation techniques.

BTW, does anybody know  what  is  the  best  approach  to  make
programs easier localizable in Linux?

When I tried to follow locale howto I failed:  it  just  didn't
work... locale support is different in different  libraries  in
use: glibc2 and libc5.

Any ideas?

Sincerely yours,
Roman A. Suzi
