I find that knoppix is great for doing feasibility tests - and sometimes for
working out settings (sound or other) in that where possible - it will
preconfigure all of your devices.

We now have the latest version of knoppix at cb - and it now comes with an
english hdd install script. (We do have the german translation however).

Have you given knoppix a go...?

Content aimed at linux absolute newbies (and newbie computer users introduced
to linux as their first experience with computers like many of the cb recips)
is definately lacking. I believe and think that Computerbank has an important
role to play in this area. (Soon our Intranet of Information will be
released live and we hope that'll help somewhat)

Cheers,

Kylie
