If only Australian Government - State and Federal would consider the 
same. 

In more recent times, our funding proposals under the National Office for the 
Information Economy' (NOIE) Networking The Nation (NTN) program were knocked 
back. Major reason cited - they were anti-competitive towards existing 
Australian businesses developing, distributing and servicing Proprietary 
Software. (in writing)

Currently the National Committee is looking at a response to this.
