I like this approach better because it leaves much more room on Nexus
for other factions and intra-planetary rivalries and stuff, and it
also makes it easier to explain why the Empire doesn't simply
blow all of the FNA away with a shrug. In the old version it was hard
to see the FNA survive for any substantial time, much less win the
war. The Empire still is a superior foe but it's much more vulnerable
to other events on and off Nexus.

So, that's my take, let me know which one you like more.
