In a machine running Fedora:
./configure (Version 0.3.8)
checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.1.5... yes
checking for main in -lSDL_mixer... yes
checking for compress in -lz... yes
...
./configure (Version 0.4.0 pre1)
checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.1.5... yes
checking for main in -lSDL_ttf... no
configure: error: *** SDL_ttf not found!
...
Thus it can`t be compiled,
after install SDL_ttf stuff...
./configure (Version 0.4.0 pre1)
checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.1.5... yes
checking for main in -lSDL_ttf... yes
checking for main in -lSDL_mixer... yes
...
A link in the INSTALL should be necessary since
some machines could not have SDL_ttf installed...
