He's referring to the solvents required to remove rosin flux, chief among them trichloroethylene (TCE), which readily mixes with water and is carcinogenic.

If you want to use rosin bearing solder - Go ahead. However, there is no need to twist
what I say to situationally fit your current need to use rosin bearing solder. Further, I never
said pines were environmentally unfriendly nor did I employ it.
